Classic Skating

Tonight for Family Night we went to Classic Skating. It was a "single parent family skate night". We went with several of my friends and their kids. Here is a classic picture of Isabel's hand.

And me and Meg taking our own pics. She loved this one of her mouth.

Mattison using her scooter to hide behind.

This is one of my friend's kids who I had never met until tonight. He kept wanting to race me on our scooters. Hello....I am not your mom. I will not let you win. I am not that nice of a lady.

I love that she lets me take her picture still.
Gotcha Mattison!

Me and my BFF's.

Me with my girlfriends.

It's May Baby!

It seems like I only blog about once a month so I thought I would get my May blog update over with already.

Isabel is about done with Spring Soccer. She has been in a tournament this last week. It has been FREEZING! I have no idea why Utah has to start soccer so early up here. Hello...can we please play when the weather is at least in the 60's? She and Mattison just started track season.

Mattison did the Hope of America Program at the Marriott Center. It's a big patriotic program put on by many schools throughout the valley. They do it over several nights...different schools, different nights.

And if you look really carefully at this flag you can see Mattison. She is on the far right, the second section of red from the bottom. Okay, you can't see her, but it's cool that she is in there.

Meg and I made it there to watch her. We were in the "nose bleed" section. We bought snacks from the concessions and took pictures of ourselves so it was good times.

Singles Cruise to Cabo

There has to be some perks to being single. Here's one. And it was a really great one. I went on a cruise to Cabo...for a really cheap price might I add. And I do have to give out a big thanks to the mom and pops for watching the kids while I was gone. I'm totally going through a mid-life crisis and they are letting me. Here's some highlights:

*Only getting 15 hours of sleep in 5 days
*Para-sailing
*Snorkeling
*Getting trashed by the waves in the ocean and getting sand stuck in my swim suit
*Figuring out how to get that sand out...it is really uncomfortable (I did figure it out, but I'm not going to tell you how on this blog)
*Ice Cream any time of the day or night
*Dancing at least 4 hours a night
*Room service--as many plates of food as you want!
*Learning the Disco Dance on stage
*Running on a treadmill on a big boat is not easy
*Laughing until my sides hurt
*Meeting some of the best people in the world!

Dying Easter Eggs

That's right peeps, two blog posts in two days. We had a fun Easter. We dyed some eggs on Saturday and then had massive amounts of candy in baskets from the Easter bunny.

Isabel...still hiding from the camera.

I'm not going to lie...the Easter Bunny was VERY tired when those eggs and baskets were being hidden at 2:00 a.m. It's tough being a single Easter Bunny ;)

Meg's Birthday

I'm about a month late...but better late then never.

Happy 5th Baby girl!

Meg really wanted a "motorcycle" like her buddy "g's". We opted for the scooter. I decided that she looks like a little grandma on a jazzy scooter. The best part about it was that she was in a study at her doctors office and earned the money for her own birthday present by getting a flu shot and getting her blood tested. What a bargin for me.

Meg wanted a pinata at the party. Mattison and Isabel got in on the action of the breaking of it too.

Meg's biggest request was that we play Musical Chairs.

It was pretty fun party...I'm glad I have a year to recover from all those 4 and 5 year olds at my house.

I Stink at Blogging

Yes, I know. I officially stink at blogging. Some might even say it's genetic and I take after my mom and her lack of blogging (yes, my Aunt Grace called me on it). What can I say. It's crazy to work, be a mom, blog and have a social life.

So here's a little run down. Maybe later this week I'll actually download some photos to go along with this post. Right now I'm just too lazy to walk up the stairs and then back down and download pics.

I've been crazy busy with work because I am now teaching another class at school. I was long term subbing for a lady who came back in January. Then I had several other classes/jobs set up and then another lady went out sick so I'm covering her class for the rest of the year. Now I have some awesome 9th graders. Do you want to know how awesome they are? Here's some examples:

**They make me lists of movies that I should watch over the weekend. Examples include; The Hangover, Pineapple Express, Jacka$% 1 and 2, Superbad, etc.
**They think I'm pretty "gangsta" because I'm divorced and they are ready and willing to "jump" my ex for me. They offered, I didn't even ask or give details of why I am divorced.
**They show me their sweet dance moves and I show them the running man. We have a mutual respect for each others dance moves.

Meg had a birthday. That's right...my baby is five. I'll be posting pics of those soon. She is super excited to be a little bit older. I keep telling her she is still my baby though.

Mattison got some Converse shoes. She thinks they are "the coolest".

Isabel finished up with indoor soccer and is getting ready to play outdoor soccer.

We are all getting excited for a little Spring weather around here. Pulling out those flip-flops and playing outside a little more. My new Spring goal...actually blog a little.

Pizza Joints

This last month we hit two...count 'em, two pizza party places. Chuck E. Cheese this last week for a birthday party.

The kids put all their tickets in a pile and then split them up after they counted them up.

In the end they had 2,800 tickets. Pretty good haul.

Earlier my family went to Pirate Island, which is like Chuck E. Cheese but a little more for older kids too. The atmosphere is awesome. The waiters and waitresses all dress like pirates. They have a better variety on the food, but the games cost more and you don't get as many tickets. It is still a pretty fun place.

And, I know there are many more pictures of Meg. I'm not playing favorites, she just lets me take pictures while the other ones roll their eyes or run away from the camera!

Sassy, Soccer, Skinnies and Spaghetti Tacos

Meg is pretty sassy and spunky. She steals my hats all the time and then requests that I take photos of her.

Isabel started indoor soccer. It is so great. Short games, lots of playing time, not having to sit outside in the hot or cold (depending on which season of outdoor soccer we are playing). She is having a great season so far...becoming a better passer and scoring goals.

Let me preface this story by saying that I swore I thought skinny jeans were LAME and that I wouldn't' wear them. However, with boots they just work better so I broke down and got some....to wear with boots. It's cold up here you know.
Today I was wearing my skinnies. The conversation with Mattison went like this.
Mattison: "Mom, are YOU wearing skinny jeans"
Me: "Yep, I am"
Mattison: "I hate it when people copy what I wear. Why do you have to have them?"
Me: "I'm in the middle of a mid-life crisis Mattison, and I like them with boots."

The girls love i-Carly. They make Spaghetti tacos on there. It's real easy...hard taco shell stuffed with spaghetti noodles and sauce. Sounds disgusting, looks disgusting, but we made them tonight anyway. Surprisingly the girls loved them. All of them ate them, Mattison even had two. I opted for another option for dinner.
