D&C 121:7-9
"My daughter, peace by unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes. Thy FRIENDS do STAND by THEE, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands"
Thanks Friends.

Flashback Friday

Recently some friends from my days in Israel popped up in Facebook. So in honor of that I am posting some pics from there. Of course the really cool ones are packed up in a storage unit. Luckily I happen to have a few in my journal. So here I am with my super cute friend Lanara and buddy Nathan. I think we were in Egypt, possibly in a pyramid. Notice the awesome fanny pack I am wearing. This picture is actually embarrassing. I think we were supposed to make funny faces and I am just standing there getting something out of my fannypack with my really cool hat. I don't even remember very many people from there, but probably should have stayed in better contact with some of them ;)

How I spend my Friday nights

1. Not going to the ward Valentine's dinner/dance
2. Babysitting my sister's kid so she can (she might start regretting letting me)
3. Teaching my gangsta kids (and nephew) to dance to a little LL Cool J.

These two are hard core.

Yo, what's up?

My favorite expression of Meggy Boo. Just don't even mess with her.

LOVE

I know I haven't written a lot about the personal things going on in my life. Some of you know some of the circumstances. I have been pretty private, but I am ready to share some of my feelings. Of course I will be protective of details that everyone doesn't need to know.

I have been thinking a lot about love these days. Probably because it's almost Valentine's Day, and I got bit in the butt by love this last year. It was hard...let me tell you. Divorce isn't something cool. It's not the easy way out. It's just replacing one set of problems with different problems. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone...not even my worst enemy. Having said that I want you to know that I am okay. Do I have days that really suck? Yes I do. But I'm not crying over him anymore. I do cry sometimes (not very often). I cry for the unknown. I cry because I feel like I have to be supermom. I cry because I feel an overwhelming sense of pressure to make sure that my girls are strong in the gospel. I cry for my sweet girls whose lives are forever changed. I cried just today when I found the clip of Meg and Garrett dancing (it's at the end of the post). I watched it and started crying thinking about the innocence of children and young friends who miss each other so much. See, it stinks. It really does. I have been known to start crying while running on the treadmill at the gym. I have a little too much time to think while running. I start thinking about my friends. I miss Vegas--Fresh and Easy, Sonic runs, park dates, my house. I start thinking about the fact that I have to go back to work and leave my little ones. It's times like these that I have to turn to the Savior and the Atonement. It's then that I have to leave my pain at His feet and ask for His love and help to get through the day. I have to have faith that He will provide a way for me to do all the overwhelming things that I know I have to do. I remember when everything starting crumbling and I said to my parents "I know the Lord wouldn't give me anything I couldn't handle, but I don't think I can do it". I remember sitting in a Relief Society lesson on trials and hearing people comment about how after you have a trial you are so thankful for it. Let me tell you, I will NEVER be thankful for this trial...but I can see that I have grown from it. I hope that I can teach my girls to be strong in the trials that they will certainly face in their lives.

So this Valentine's Day don't feel sorry for me. I still have love in my life. After all I still have these three beauties...

And of course my team and family.

And you know I still have hope. I have hope that I will find love with someone again. Hey maybe I'll be older and more gray...but I'll find him. I will. Because after all "IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER".

Hello Frida

I got those pictures from the Mexican Paparazzi. Here are Traci and I with the lovely Frida. She was such a nice dolphin. She even let us grab ahold of her fin and give us a ride accross the pool. That was fun.

Here I am getting a kiss. I'm not going to lie, I kissed her back.

Me and my crew

Here are some pics with me and my friends. Melissa and Kristin and I went to a comedy club. It was very funny.
Eating at Los Hermanos, drinking those yummy drinks.
Before we left to hit the town.
Good times, good times. I can't go into details, this is a family blog ;)

Fun with the Girls

Mattison and Isabel were in absolute heaven this weekend when Emily came and visited. They screamed, laughed, made forts and did all things that girls should do with their best friend. Here they are when Emily first arrived.

I went out with my friends who were also here this weekend and before we went out these girls thought is was funny that we were all dressed up in black clothes (after all black is slimming) so they ran into my room and grabbed some clothes to get all dressed up to go out too.

I really love the boots Isabel is wearing.

Meg thought she needed to get into the action as well.

For Meggy Boo's buddy Garrett

So Meg's friend Garrett has a video posted on their blog. Meg of course loved it and watched it over and over again for 30 minutes. I had to take a video for Garrett. And, why when you are three, is it cool and funny to throw in the word poopy?

Another funny Meg story is this weekend she was playing with the older girls in a fort. They told her that her bottom stunk so I am upstairs and hear "Meg is spraying her butt with Febreeze". When I came down Meg had a big wet spot on her nightgown. Hey, a girl has got to do what a girl needs to do to feel fresh!

Cabo!

I have the best friends for sure. My friend Traci earned a trip to Cabo from work and took me along--all paid! Isn't that awesome? The weather was great and we had a great time. Thanks to my parents for watching the kids.

This is me and Traci all ready to swim with the dolphins. They wouldn't let us take our own pictures while swimming with the dolphins, so the Mexican Paparazzi took some pictures we had to purchase. I, of course, will post those when I get them.
I loved the fresh fruit, but mostly these yummy donuts. They had them in Cancun when I was there so I was so happy they were frying them at this resort too.
This is on the water taxi over to Lover's Beach. On one side is the Sea of Cortez and through the arch is the Pacific Ocean. Oh, and the other side of Lover's Beach is Divorce Beach. We hung out there ;)

Traci and me on the water taxi with the famous Arch.
We did a little shopping along the boardwalk. I wanted a picture with the Marina and in the background Juan and Pablo decided they would join me. I didn't even ask, they just jumped in. Aren't Mexicans so nice?
The Resort looking out to the Ocean.Dinner with our favorite waiter Luis Angel. He brought us drinks all day long. He kept telling us he was going to put some alcohol in it. He could have, maybe that is why we were having so much fun at the disco at night.
Lounging at the beach.

I had a great time...got a facial, manicure and pedicure and mostly just enjoyed the sun that I have been missing since moving up Utah!

Banana Hammocks

Really this is the best part of Mexico. I mean, why go if you can't see some old men in Speedos.

And this dude was at "Lover's Beach". So hot!
