Flashback Friday

Cheesy Dance pictures again, without the big bow. Why in the group picture are the couple in the front facing eachother? So weird, so 90's.

St. George

Last Saturday the girls and I went up to St. George to see some cousins who were spending time in a condo there. The girls were so excited to see Kodi, Kali and Kortni. Here are the girls at the St. George Temple.

This is the picture were Uncle Jared told them to pose "Gangsta".
They had a lot of fun swimming. Here is Meg lounging on her floatie getting a tan. Kortni is hanging out with her.
Kodi and Mattison.
Isabel floating around
And Kali too.

Hanging out at the Mall with the Girls

Last Friday we decided to head to the mall to have a Girls Night Out with the Faulkner girls. We had some fun times shopping for Webkinz and looking at all the girl stuff. Here are the girls posing for some photos in front of the fountain that they threw coins in to make wishes. We think they wished for more Webkinz. Mattison has been thinking about getting her ears pierced for some time now, but would change her mind when she got to the mall. She finally decided to go for it. Here she is before--a little nervous.
Here she is after.

Flashback Friday--Glasses

8th grade picture. Don't you love those glasses?

When I was in Utah I was searching in some boxes of old stuff and found those beautiful glasses. The funny thing about them is how huge they are. They covered my whole face--they still do...
And Isabel's face
And Mattison's face
And especially Meg's face!

Classic Rollerskating--Mostly Scooters

While we were in Utah we went to the good old Classic Skating Rink. It really hasn't changed much from back in the day, but you can use scooters now. That is a good thing because my kids don't know how to rollerskate. Mattison tried but decided it was easy to use her scooter. They had a lot of fun with thier cousins Kodi and Kali and even requested a song.

Here they are smiling for the camera, except Isabel who looks like she is sticking her tongue out at me.
Isabel and Kali played a few games and won a few tickets and got a "Best Friends" necklace.
Mattison and Kodi speeding by me.

Who cares!

While I was driving home to Las Vegas from my visit to Utah I was listening to my IPod and thinking. I know what you will say, you're not supposed to listen to head phones while driving, but when my kids watch movies I have to listen to something or I get so stinking bored. So I was listening to my songs and thinking about how an IPod is so personal. I have some of my favorite songs on it. Once it was sitting out and someone was scrolling through it and I was like "Oh, no!" because I didn't know what they might think when they saw some of my music. So while I was driving and listening and thinking I started thinking about what stories I could tell on my blog (am I addicted to blogging or is it the 5 hours of driving). Then I remembered I haven't changed my music in such a long time and I am really sick of those summer songs. So today I decided to put some of my favorite music on my blog and say to all of you "Who cares if I like Michael Jackson!" I mean, didn't we all love him before he went white, and became a pervert? I had the poster in the picture above in my room. Remember the moon walk and Thriller? Plus, he just moved to Vegas, (see here) and if given tickets I would go. Who cares if I am mid-thirties and when I hear a Backstreet Boys song I crank it up. And who can't Strike a Pose when Madonna sings. So here are some of my favorite artists and songs and I don't care if you think I am crazy for liking Britney, or Boy George or N' Sync! But I do want to know what songs you love and rock out to in your car when no one else can hear. What is hidden in your IPod?

My Grandpa

Part of the reunion was to celebrate my Grandpa turning 90. His birthday is the end of August but because so many people were there we had an open house for him. We were glad that we could be there to celebrate with him.

The Farm

We had the bi-annual Rulon Callister Reunion this year back at my Grandpa's Farm. It is literally in the middle of nowhere--Howe, Idaho. I mean the school is a 2 room schoolhouse and there is one little gas station/convience store there. My kids love going there are playing on the farm and seeing all the animals, so the dust and wind was well worth the trip. Here are some of the highlights.

The farm owns an old school bus so we all got in and went up the mountain to go on a hike/picnic. The roads we went on were bumpy and all dirt and I wasn't sure if the bus would even make it up the mountain, but it did. It was Meg's firtst time on a bus and she loved it and sang "The wheels on the Bus" all the way there.
Here are some of us hiking. Of course Meg got a ride.
Mattison gets her love of hiking from me. Can you tell how much she loves it?
We had little programs at night on the lawn. Meg and Ethan were out laying in the grass during the the program.
We had pinatas that my cousin Carolyn made. We used to do those at Thanksgiving time when I was little. It's a family tradition.

The kids all got to adpot a calf while they were there. They were able to help feeding the calves too.

My aunt brought her dog Beau who the kids loved. It only has 3 legs because it lost one in a tragic accident.

We loved going there and spending time with family. It was great to go 4 wheeling and get completely dusty. It was great to see Grandpa and see the Dairy Farm again. Thanks for the Farm!
