I know it's not Wednesday

It's not Wednesday so it's not wordless Wednesday. I just had to remind all of you of the fabulous hotties on the singles website. I know I already posted this babe, but seeing as it is almost Christmas I thought I would look him up...perhaps plan a date, maybe get some great presents this year! Merry Christmas.

One year ago...

One year ago I left my life in Vegas. One year ago I was sad. It was a hard day. Today I'm a little sad. I miss my old life...most of it.

Secretly Posting

Today at school we are doing Reality Town where the kids get to go to speakers and then they get to go and get jobs and have checkbooks etc. So while I am sitting here listening to a model/actress speak I am secretly blogging. It is so great! I have caught up on my whole blog list and even those that I blog stalk. If only I had facebook chat my life would be complete. ha ha!

Meg's pictures

The other night for Family Home Evening we decorated a Gingerbread house and then Meg wanted to take some pictures of the Gingerbread house and other random things. We got carried away taking pictures of ourselves...we are nerds like that.

Meg really wanted this picture by the tree and wants me to print it out so she can give it to her preschool teacher.

Here come the up close and in your face self-portraits....
This is by far one of my favorites of Meggy Boo. It makes me laugh every time I look at it.

And now the randomness of Meg with the camera....

Only a few more days 'til Christmas....and I finally did a little shopping today. Yay me.

Christmas Stuff

I can't believe that Christmas is almost here. I am so not ready. There is no time to shop when you have to work. I haven't been able to do all the fun Christmas stuff that I used to do with the kids when I stayed at home. It's lame. But, we have tried to go to a few Christmas things. We made it up to the Festival of Trees for a bit. Here is Meg with the guy from "Nightmare Before Christmas".

This was about as good of a picture that I could get of all of the kids. They were not in a picture mood...Stinkers.
It started snowing here and hasn't stopped. It has been freezing and I am not liking it at all. Yesterday my mom and dad were out of town and it snowed so I had to go out and do the walks. Brrrr. I went out in my pj's and boots (which are actually my old boots from jr. high) and this awesome Russian hat that my friend Kristin gave to me. Isabel said, "Mom aren't you embarrassed that someone will see you?" Nope, obviously I wasn't.
The other day we went out to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. We went with Traci and her kids. All the kids love to pay attention to our conversations. Mattison informed me that we should not be dating. She said it's weird for girls to be dating in their 30's. Ha ha! No kidding Mattison! Then they proceeded to make fun of us by talking about the boys we have dated. It was hilarious. I'm just hoping I'm still not dating by the time Mattison dates because that will be even more strange to compare dating stories. That only gives me 5 years people....
One more single story. I haven't been to a singles function in awhile, been busy with other people. But, I've been in a funk lately, so I decided to head to a singles party up the canyon to this really awesome Lodge. There are "mid-singles" functions that are for people age 31-45. It's generally better when they cap off the age so we don't have to mingle with grandpas...eww. I get there and see this lady who used to be in my ward growing up. I have seen her at a few other functions in the past. When I saw her there I knew that this singles event was going to be lame-o. Let me just say, she has a son my brother's age and I'm wondering how the heck she keeps creeping into these events. Would someone please card her before she gets in again?

Thanksgiving in Cali!

I can't believe I haven't posted my trip to Cali. Traci and I went there for Thanksgiving since we didn't have our kids. It was awesome. We stayed in Calabasas at my cousins beautiful house. It was like staying at a resort. We slept in, exercised, went to the beach, shopped, saw a few movies and went out to eat. Traci's camera has the pictures of us together so don't think I am completely vain by posting pics of just myself.

We went out to the Santa Monica Pier. It was pretty cold that day.

We stopped by the LA temple. We were there right before the lights were turned on. It looked like they had a lot of lights ready for Christmas

We did a little shopping at the 3rd street Promenade. It was fun. Then we went out to a little hole in the wall Italian restaurant that our new surfer friend Mitch told us about. It was the best food.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Mimi's cafe. It was pretty decent for only $14.00.

Traci and I have decided that we might just stay single forever...it might be easier than finding a new hubby...and we can live in these beach houses!

The beach on Thanksgiving day...we were out for 4 hours, eating McD's and trying to get a little sun.
Holy crap...I just posted a pic of me in a swimsuit on my blog...I do need a tan.
I love vacations!

No dancing

Tonight while I was driving in the car to Target with the girls one of the best Christmas songs of all time came on....Last Christmas, you know by Wham. When I started dancing Mattison told me "Mom, according to Diary of a Wimpy Kid parents can't dance within 30 feet of their kids". Excuse me? 30 feet? I think not.

I had to remind her that it could be worse, I could be singing "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce. Which, by the way, I did sing to my students on Wednesday.
