Christmas Fun

I haven't posted anything for awhile, but there has been a lot going on. The girls have been off track since Thanksgiving and so we have been having a lot of play dates. We have been wishing the wind would not blow so much so we could spend more days at the park. I guess we can't complain though, because it isn't 12 degrees or anything like that. Matt keeps telling us we are getting to0 wimpy for the cold. 6 years in Vegas will do that to you I guess. Here are a few pictures of things we have been doing this month. Merry Christmas!!

We decided to make some sugar cookies today. Meg was in charge of the sprinkles. She kept calling them the "sprinklers". We tried taking some to our neighbors, but most were not home. We still took some around to our ward friends.

We went and saw some Christmas lights on Saturday night. The kids had fun. Mattison and Meg wanted to ride on the train, but Isabel decided to sit out.

Mattison and Isabel have had a few "Late overs" with their friends. This usually takes place on Friday nights and the friends get to stay over late instead of sleeping over.

Mattison and Matt at the ward Christmas party. We had so many people there they had to put up 7 extra tables.

Holiday Recitals

This week was busy with Christmas activities. The girls both participated in a piano recital. Isabel has only been taking a few months and did great. Mattison tells me she doesn't like piano and I am the meanest mom in the world for making her take piano. I just remind her that it is all Grandma's fault becuase she made me take piano and so now I make her take piano. I posted some vidoes of the girls recital songs.

Mattison also had her dance open house this week. We were able to go to both of her dance classes and watch her. It was fun to see her dance.

It's raining, it's pouring

It rained here today and what do my kids do--run outside and jump in the puddles. Living in Las Vegas, rain is not a common thing. We don't even own a working umbrella. I think they all broke and I don't know where they are and haven't invested in new ones yet. Can you believe that it was even cold enough to put on jackets during the day. Luckily the forcast for next week is 68 degrees. Merry Christmas to us!

Playing in the leaves

We have been in Utah having a great time playing in the leaves. We went over to my sister Karen's house and she has a huge tree with lots of leaves so the kids jumped right in. They got cold fast, but played outside forever. Uncle Donovan told them about the dogs we had growing up that have since passed away. He told them they were buried in the garden so the kids got to work digging up Grandma and Grandpas garden. Donovan told them he would pay them some money for the bones they found, but after two days of digging and not finding anything they gave up.

Bryan's Wedding

My brother Bryan got married this past weekend and we were able to come up to Utah. We got here at 1:30 in the morning and are still trying to recover from the lack of sleep. Not to mention the fact that there are cousins and all kinds of fun things to do besides going to bed on time. So, I have a bunch of pictures from the wedding and even more I could add.

Meg wanted her picture taken a thousand times. Then she would always ask to see them.

Here we are at the reception. Too bad we weren't both looking at the same camera.

Meg and her cousin Ethan were walking hand in hand out the door. Too cute.

Last game

Izzy had her last game of the season today. She scored a goal. On the way to the game she fell and hurt both her knees so she was a little moody before the game started and throughout the first quarter. I think she likes playing this season, but is ready for a winter break.

Meg and her Buddy "G"

Meg loves hanging out with her buddy. They love to see eachother, but then they fight when they are together. She likes to boss him around ( the girls learn so early). Don't pay too much attention to Meg's mismatched clothes. She puts on one thing in the morning and the minute it gets a drop of water on it we have to change it so by the middle of the day she is wearing whatever is around.

Happy Birthday Mattison

Happy Birthday Mattison. We can't believe that you are so old. You are such a beautiful girl!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year with school parades, ward Trunk or Treat and even going around the neighborhood. Of course the kids got tons of candy and Matt and I will find the good stuff when they aren't looking. We sure missed our Halloween buddies the Krause's, Draper's and Diaz family. They were our usual partners in crime at the Trunk or Treat. I had to be outrageous by myself this year. I got the regular worried looks from the Bishopric. Of course I did have some fun friends Cheryl and Diin who dressed up too.

Happy Halloween from the Las Vegas Thomas Family

We are still the good looking couple we were way back in high school.

Friends at the Trunk or Treat

Meg was going to be Snow White, but at the last minute decided that costume was too itchy. So we left for the Trunk or Treat with no costume on. We finally talked her into putting one on. I had been telling her all week that she would get to say "Trick or Treat" and people would give her candy. About half was through the cars Meg said to me "Mom, it's working". She of course loves all the candy!

Isabel is casting a spell as Hermoine.

Mattison is being a mean scary witch. My mom sent a witch costume that was mine when I was little, but it was still too big this year. Maybe next year.

More Spring Mountain Ranch Photos

Silly saves the day.

Here is Matt and the girls and of course we couldn't leave old "Silly" out.

Mattison and Kristen

Spring Mountain Ranch

Today we went up past Red Rock to a place called Spring Mountain Ranch. We went for a Fitness Together Staff Meeting and we stayed for quite a while and had a lot of fun. It was nice to get away with Matt on a Saturday.

How do you know if it's a boy or girl?

Meggy Boo

Meg has a friend who always calles her "Megan" and she always tells him that she is not Megan, but "Meggy Boo". Yesterday she inherited some swimsuits and a swim cover up from a friend. She has been wearing the terry cloth swim cover up all day thinking it is a dress. It has Snow White on it so she loves it. She wore it to bed last night, but while she was sleeping we changed her. She woke up extra early this morning crying because she wasn't wearing the cover up. She has a mind of her own and isn't afraid to tell you what she thinks. She must be 2.

More Family Photos

These are some pictures of Matt's family at the funeral. The top is of all the brothers and sisters and spouses and cousins. The bottom left is Matt and his brothers and cousins. The last is the brothers and sisters and spouses with Grandpa Thomas.

Kristen's new hair

We recently went to Utah for the funeral of Grandpa Harris and got a few family pictures. Some of you far away have heard the story of Kristen's hair, but have yet to see it. Remember it used to be even darker.

Back to School

Mattison and Isabel went back to school this morning. We went over to a friends for a doughnut breakfast and then were all going to walk to school. Unfortunately, it rained all night and into the morning, so we couldn't walk. Isabel was excited to start 1st grade with her buddy Tyler and Mattison was less excited to start 3rd grade. She has caught on to the fact that school is long and you have to do lots of work. We are sure it will be an eventful year full of fun and friends.
