Shy Sweet Mattison

Mattison and Isabel have been begging me to put this on the blog for days. So I am putting here so that people can see the real Mattison that I live with. She is so sweet.

Flashback Friday

Some people I know have started to post things from the past on their blog. I decided to join the fun. I don't have a working scanner at home right now so today I will just post a story from the past.

When Matt and I first started dating I would go to his house and his family liked to play practical jokes. For instance, one date I went there and they put pretend doggy doo doo on the carpet and acted like they didn't notice it and then when I saw it the picked it up and threw it at me. Because Matt's family was always joking around I also thought his great grandma living in the back room was just pretend. Matt would always say "I have to go help Grandma." Because she never came out of the room and I never went back there I didn't believe there really was a Grandma back there. Finally after a few months I went back and really saw she was there. And speaking of Grandma Millie, Matt told me that late in the nights when he was sleeping he would hear her creeping to the bathroom with her walker. When he looked up there she was in the buff. What a sight to see I am sure. I bet he can't wait to see how great I'll look when I'm 90!

ps Janae told me that when Jared always used that as an excuse to miss practice no one believed him either.

Meg is funny

While Mattison and Isabel were running around taking pictures they got a few that are perfect for me to tell you about Miss Meg. She is totally into Mulan these days and watches it all the time. She wants to watch it "downstairs" which is really upstairs. She hasn't figured out all of her opposites yet. She also hates tags in her clothes. Anytime we put clothes on with a tag she makes me cut them out. Mattison used to make me do that too. It is so annoying. She is becoming quite particular about the clothes she will wear. She loves to wear hand me downs from her friends Gracie and Ashlyn. I think that whenever I buy new clothes I will first cut the tags out and second, give them to Gracie and Ashlyn to give to her. Maybe she will actually wear them! We don't know what we would do without Meg! She keeps us smiling. Mulan
An extra tag found by Mattison on the carpet. There are probably a lot floating around.

When your kids are bored on Sunday morning

This is what happens when the kids get the camera and Sunday mornings are too long. There were plenty other pictures, but we only choose a few.

My True Color

Take this test!

Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.

I took this test because I saw someone else who had done it. I thought it described me pretty good. Then I see someone who has the color orange who has a nice great fun loving personality who people want to be around all the time. I decided I need to retake the test so that I can show up with a better color. Sorry for all of you who I have pushed to perfection and intimidated. Poor Matt.

Garage doors

Tonight we went over to my friends house to get her for a meeting and Isabel noticed her garage door was open. She said "Why do they always leave thier door open? Don't they know that is not safe? Do they think we are in Utah or something?" Kids are funny.

Happenings

As some of you know we went up to Utah after Christmas to get some work done on Matt's car. While we were there it was so cold. The girls had the chance to go to the zoo with Matt's parents and see some Christmas lights. They were freezing! I have some great pictures, but am having trouble posting those to the blog. On the drive back we made it to Mona before Matt's car starting having other problems and we had to be rescued by my dad. My parents let me bring back their car while Matt's car was getting fixed. That just tops of all the problems going on right now, but I really don't want to bring those to the World Wide Web. Anyways, thankfully my parents helped get Matt's car fixed and surprised us last night by bringing the car back down. It was fun to see them for a short while. Also, the girls started school again (so great after 6 weeks of break). Not that we don't miss them while they are gone, I can just go to the gym again and don't have to hear how it is so "boring" everyday. Can you believe after 3 days of school they had parent teacher conferences and the kids were out Thursday. Luckily the day was great (60 degrees) and we were at the park most of the day with our friends. On Friday we had some friends over after school to ride bikes and scooters in the cul-de-sac. It has been so great to be outside. For all of you who think Las Vegas is just too hot--this is why we like it. These winter months make up for the hot hot summers. Viva Las Vegas!

Go Cougars!!! Isabel loves this shirt she got for Christmas.

Christmas 2007

Okay, these pictures used to be in a great order, but I kept messing up and now they are just how they are and I am just going to quit trying. Meg got a bike for Christmas. She is so excited that she can go fast.
Mattison got some pet shop stuff and an MP3 player.

Isabel got a bike too. We went out to ride it and despite it looking sunny and nice, it was really cold. The wind was blowing like crazy and the Isabel and Meg wanted to stay out, but they only were out there for a little bit.
We had a great Christmas in Las Vegas. It is the first time we have been home for Christmas is 11 years of marriage. My parents were able to come down so that was nice. We had the Thomas crepes for Christmas breakfast and the Lott traditional Christmas dinner.

Matt had told his sister Shelly he wanted tweezers for Christmas so she bought him an assortment.
