Flashback Friday

Jelly Shoes. Remember them? I had some in Elementary school and thought they were so cool. Did you ever have any ? And so my friends, I present to you one of my best finds at Kohls yet.

Can you believe they only cost $1.70? They were such a good deal that I had 2 friends purchase the same shoe (I won't tell you who though). Talk about comfortable, not. But when I need a pair of shoes to wear for a special occasion you know I will be pulling these babies out!

Randomness

Isabel and Meg share a room. They have beautiful bunkbeds with super soft and comfortable mattresses on them. However, Isabel has decided that it is too hot to sleep on the top bunk and now likes to pull out the extra mattress we have under the bunkbeds to sleep on everynight. Now, this special extra mattress is one that we bought for Mattison when Matt was still in school. It is probably the cheapest mattress you can buy at "Mattress Plus". Not to mention it is pulled out almost everytime kids are over to be used as the kids are dancing away to High School Musical or Hannah Montana. The springs have been jumped on a bit. Why Isabel would find this more comfortable that her extra fluffy RC Willey mattress is beyond me. So the other morning Matt is leaving and goes in to check on the girls and this is what he finds ...

I am thinking about selling those good mattresses on Ebay. Check there later for a good deal.

We have such a great neighbor across the street. She has the cutest dog and always comes out with it or lets the kids take it out to play. It's so great. The girls can play with a dog and I don't have to clean up the poop. On Saturday they wanted to go outside. It was freaking hot--108 degrees. I said they could go out for 5 minutes figuring they wouldn't stay out. I guess Bella (that's the dog) was outside so they played with her for a minute. This is how I found them.

This picture is for my brother Donovan. He has added new music to his blog and Matt really enjoys his music. So this is a picure of Matt "head-banging" to the music. Notice how the extra long mid-life crisis hair really moves.

Have you heard about this? It's just terrible.

Theft Problem IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

You've heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves well. . .My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs. It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Who's thighs were these and what happened to mine? I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans.

And then the thieves struck again. My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear-end to the thighs they had stuck me with earlier. But my new butt was attached at least three inches lower than my original! I realized I'd have to give up my jeans in favor of long skirts.

Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and was horrified to see the flesh of my upper arm swingto and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really getting scary - my body was being replaced one section at a time. What could they do to me next? When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story. Women of the world, wake up and smell the coffee! Those plastic surgeons are using REAL replacement bodyparts - stolen from you and me! The next time someone you know has something 'lifted', look again - was it lifted from you?

THIS IS NOT A HOAX. This is happening to women everywhere, every night. I have not had the chance to look into Snopes but I am sure it is there!WARN YOUR FRIENDS!

P.S. Last year I thought someone had stolen my boobs. I was lying in bed and they were gone! But when I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to see that they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my waistband.

I just thought I would warn all of you, my blogging friends. I haven't had everything stolen yet, but do have oatmeal thighs. I am getting a security system ASAP.

Flashback Friday--Why?

Why the big glasses? Did those glasses that covered half of my face help me see better? Why the permed hair? Why the orange and brown bedspread Mom? Why in the world would I even post this? Maybe it's so you can see how far I have come. I don't know if the gray hair is better than the permed, but I tell myself it is.

Dance Recital

Mattison had her annual dance recital this weekend. She has been taking 2 classes this year, ballet and a tap/jazz combo. This is the first time she has had two separate classes. In previous years it was an hour of tap/ballet combined. By the middle of the year it was sometimes a battle to get her to ballet. She decided it was "boring". But I have to say that I just loved her ballet costume and dance. It was so beautiful and graceful. I think she does better at ballet than jazz, but I don't want the fight anymore so this next year she is just goint to take the tap/jazz class. Here she is with her friend Aubrey in their ballet costumes.

Here is a little clip of the ballet dance at the dress rehersal.

We are proud of you Mattison. You did such a great job!

This just makes me sick!

Today I went to get some gas and was so happy to get my Smith's gas discount because that made it only $3.99 a gallon. I made it under the 4 dollar amount--Yippee. How much is gas where you are?

She is the Dancing Queen

Meg loves to dance and wear her "tard" (as in leotard).

As you will see in the video it is time for us to invest in some dance classes for her.

Daddy Daughter Activity Days

Last week for Activity Days the girls and leaders planned a Daddy Daughter date. They went to the park and ate dinner and then had fun doing eachothers hair. Since Matt is going through some kind of a mid-life crisis and thinks his hair is cool long (I'm in trouble for saying that) Mattison had lots of fun putting bows in his hair. Here is the finished product.

This picture just scares us.

Piano Recital

Saturday we had our piano recital. The girls did great even though they were nervous. Mattison played Sonata Pathetique by Beethoven. She told me I was not allowed to put her playing the song on the blog. Since Mattison didn't want hers posted neither did Isabel.Isabel played Ode to Joy by Beethoven. She has only been taking since October and did a good job even though she had to stop a start a few times to remember her song. She had it down at home, but got a little nervous. I don't have a picture of Isabel, only the video. Now if there are any of you out there who want to see the videos (Grandparents I am talking to you) I can send you copies for a pretty good deal. Or perhaps the girls can be bribed. They like money and also Webkinz. The girls piano teacher is moving so I am currently looking for a new teacher. There is only one other person in the ward teaching and I heard she is full--and also crazy. That's what my girls tell me anyway.

Fieldtrip to the Children's Museum

Mattison had a class fieldtrip to the Children's Museum. I was able to go as a chaperone. It was a lot of fun to see Mattison with her friends. First our group went into to store and bought some groceries. Here is Mattison pulling herself up a pole. Mattison and her friend were doing a job working for the airlines. When the kids went around and did different jobs they were able to get paychecks and then go to the bank and exchange them for money to buy things at the store.
The kids were all really good on the fieldtrip and so it was a fun day. Riding the buses brings me back to the old days of riding them to jr. high! Yikes.
