Pre-Halloween

Tomorrow is Nevada Day and so there is no school. So today the school festivities happened. Meg decided that today she would be Snow White. I was actually surprised because she usually says that dress is too itchy and I thought she was going to be a butterfly. Here she is with her buddies that she plays with and goes to school with. She thinks she wants to marry them both.

Here they are making a scary witch face.
Here is Miss Meggy Boo eating her cupcakes at treats at her preschool party.

We also got to go to the school and see Mattison and Isabel in a parade. Here is Mattison in her classroom. I was able to sneak in a get a photo. Of course she was trying to hide her face.

Here is Isabel in the parade. This is a picture I got before she knew it and could hide her face.

Mattison is with her friend Aliza at school during the parade. It was 86 degrees today so it was quite hot.
Here is Isabel when she knew I was taking a picture and so she put the hand in front of her face. My kids have a problem with that. I have way too many pictures of them with hands in front of their faces.
It was a great day with lots of treats and candy and now tomorrow we have even more to look forward too.

A new post

I got tired of pulling up my blog and seeing the "bumpkin"(good word Makayla) picture so I decided to make a new post. Unfortunately I haven't taken any picutures of the kids lately so I decided to post our pumpkins from last year. I think we are going to carve some either tonight or tomorrow.
Other events of the weekend: Isabel had a crazy soccer game. The ref was terrible, the coach couldn't stand the ref because the ref wouldn't make any calls for us. There was an awful kid on the other team who was pushing and shoving and kicking. Isabel got kicked in the gut! But, she did great and almost scored several times. Just a little off of the goal.

The weather is great. The kids have been playing outside riding bikes and such with the neighbors. They were outside the majority of Saturday. After long hot summers we really appreciate Fall.

I am on the hunt for shoes that Meg likes and that will fit her chubby little feet. She has some ratty old crocs that apparently are so comfortable she just can't give them up. I inherited some really cute shoes from some friends, but now that they finally fit in the length, the just squeeze out of the sides and top. Yesterday she wore a cute pair to church and half way through sacrament meeting took them off because they hurt. I could see the lines of the shoes on her feet. On her way to nursery she wanted to put them on, but when we did she just said "ouch those hurt" So she was one of "those" kids running around at church without shoes. I have bought her another pair of crocs, but they just don't fit the same as her others. Apparently they are too big. (I did go up a size considering the last pair are just about too small) Besides, I don't know how keen I am on crocs to church. So the search for a pair of shoes continues. I am afraid I may have to hit the Stride Rite outlet mall.

Since I have talked about Izzy and Meg I guess I should say Mattison is doing great. Nothing to adventuresome for her this past weekend other than she is just growing up way too fast.

Happy Halloween

I love Halloween. There is so much fun stuff to do and decorations to put up. The girls are still trying to decide exactly what they want to be, (me too). I know, we need to get on that soon. Yesterday we went to a little school carnival put on by the middle school. It wasn't very organized or exciting, but Isabel and Meg still had fun. Of course Mattison is just "too cool" for some things. But what are you going to do when you are almost 10! We are enjoying the nice weather down here and spending lots of time outside. Happy Fall!

Flashback Friday

I know what you are thinking--enough of the big bows. I really am mortified, but you can't change the past. Here I am with my little brother Bryan--who is no longer my little brother, just my younger brother. I think he had a flat top haircut until after his mission. I love the cool pants. I must admit, I had a pair that I used for pj's. Bryan, you were such a little punk ;)

The dogs

When Aunt Shelly came to visit this weekend she brought her dogs and that cute little puppy. The girls loved playing with the dogs and holding the puppy. They couldn't get enough of the dogs.
The girls even thought they were dogs! I am thinking of investing in just the kennal for Christmas because they loved playing inside of it.

Michael's house

We decided to head over to a house which is now owned by none other than Michael Jackson. You know that I am a closet old school MJ fan--not so much of his current work... We did see a few paparazzi outside the house. We got out to take a few pictures and check it out. We did not see MJ, but did get into a conversation with a rather buff guy. He had a conversation with Matt's sister Shelly.

Buff dude: With all the beautiful scenery around here I can't figure out why you are taking pics of this house.
Shelly: Oh we thought this was Michael Jackson's house.
Buff dude: Just shakes his head back and forth.

I mean what a story to tell. We talked to MJ's security. You know I am going back another day!

Soccer Season has Begun

Isabel had her first soccer game of the season because she missed her game last week. She did a great job considering she used to play on a field half the size with no postions and no goalies. She did get a little frustrated trying to figure it all out because she is a perfectionist and doesn't like to make mistakes. With a few more practices and games we are sure that she will show some "mad skills". (Hey Krauses, we thought the boy in the black next to Isabel looked like Mason when he was a little younger)

Isabel also got Student of the Month. We are so proud of her!

Playing at the Park

It was a nice, cool, 92 degrees today so we took advantage of it and went to playgroup at the park. We are thankful for shade structures over playground equpiment.
