Flashback Friday

Happy Halloween 1980 something. Almost every year growing up I was dressed as a witch. However, this year I decided to go as Wonder Woman. Of course in Utah it is cold at Halloween so I had to wear pants instead of the complete outfit. That is my brother Donovan with me. He really liked Star Wars.

Here to prove the love of Star Wars is a birthday party that Donovan had that was Star Wars themed. Of course I was none other than Princess Leia. I think my Dad even made a Darth Vader pinata.
In case you all couldn't see the beauty of the bun making skills my mom had, here is a close up of me. Check out those buns--(the hair buns of course). I remember going to see Star Wars in the theater and Princess Leia even sat next to me. It was so exciting. The girl next to me is my best friend growing up, Amie. Hi Amie!

Now I must say that I HAVE to find another pair of those Winner II shoes from Sears that Darth Vadar is wearing. After being involved in several biomechanical studies investigating optimal footwear, I can attest to the wonders of the Winner II. They Rock!! Maybe I can find a size 13 of them on ebay in the used shoes section...Start thinking August birthday present, Kristen.

P.S. I can name all of the people in the birthday pic (how did you do with them, Kristen and Mom?). top row left to right: Glazier Ward, Justin Schelien, Chris Weight, Chad Booth, some loser, some hunny bunny; front row: Dana ??? (his last name escapes me, but he lived where Jason and Shauna Hansen lived), Curtis Garbett, Davey Hawkes, Jimmy Hawkes, and Jeremy Burningham. Now try and list the professions and current residence for each of these hoodlums! I think that is a gauntlet I just threw down, Mom.

Dana Gress or Grass--something like that. I have to say that Justin and Chad were the ones I couldn't name by looking at the picture the first time but now that you say it I should have known them. And I must admit, the Winner shoes were awesome. I am going to check Ebay just for you Donovan. Professions--I do know some. One is in construction, one flys jets and one made a patent of something or other I think (back me up on that mom or Jan). Have you ever checked the links on mom and dad's blog? There is a link that has links to some of those other kids in the pics.

I was able to pick out Chris Weight and Chad Booth and of course the Hawkes brothers. But never would have gotten Glazier or Jeremy. I should have guest Justin - the face says it all. I too was Wonder women with the plastic mask for several years and wore my hair to school in buns so I could play Star Wars with Josh Fletcher and David Morgan in Kindergarten!

I love it when Kristen wears the Princess Leah outfit that Jabba the Hut had her wear. Oo-la-la. Of course, that chain has been effective in keeping Kristen (I mean, Princess Leah) in check. Thank you, Jabba, where ever you are (wow, I say the same thing to Santa Claus every year).
